Kitchens Progress

Tuesday 17th Jan
Yesterday the base units were put in and today the wall units.  We have work surface around the sink but nowhere else.  Tonight we went around opening and closing all the doors and cupboards like a couple of kids.  The end is in sight which is so good.
Thought I would add this picture of the dinning room as well.  When we started it had a lot of kitchen things in it but was reasonably organised.  Now during the day it has all the fitters belongings such as jackets, plus odd bits of the new kitchen and the floor is covered with tools. I can't wait to take the dust sheets up and find the floor and have a table that I can sit up to again.

Saturday 14th Jan
Yesterday saw the construction of many of the units in the garage.  Our old sink unit was put back in so that joys of joys I can wash up in a sink this weekend and the slow cooker does not have to go on the lounge coffee table.

Thursday 11th Jan

Tuesday the view remained much the same although a lot of work on electrics and other preparation had been done.
Wednesday and today the plasterer came in and the kitchen now has the smoothest walls in the house but of course they will be covered in cupboards!

Monday 8th Jan

Sunday evening saw the walls in a slightly better state as Peter had filled in some of the huge holes with plaster and bits of carpet felt and screwed up paper - yes the holes really were that large.
Today Monday saw the all the units being put out on the patio.  It can only get better from now - can't it?

Saturday 7th Jan
After I had taken the tiles off

In the Begining
Next week the professionals are coming in to start on our new kitchen.  Before then Peter and I have had to remove the tiles and to fill in some of the very large holes before the walls are re plastered   We thought it would-be fun to have a daily photo taken from the same spot to show the progress or otherwise.
The first shot was taken on home leave in 2008 to show what it was like before we started.
